EBAY SHIPPING GUIDE TIPS AND TRICKS

Shipping

Paypal Shipping:
If you have a Paypal account you can take advantage of Paypal Shipping. Paypal allows you to buy USPS and UPS shipping at discounted rates. Furthermore, you are able to pre-print your shipping information on labels saving you valuable time. You can also ask UPS or USPS to pick up the package from your house. This could be a good option for items that are too heavy or too big to haul. If you want to buy shipping labels, I suggest buying from labeldog on Ebay. I bought 400 labels for $8 including delivery. In the store this quantity would sell for $60. I just saved you $52!!

Instructions for using Paypal Shipping:

1. Log into Paypal.com

2. Once you log in, click on the link on the bottom left of the page, “Payments Received”.

3. It will take you to the page you see below. When you see transactions with the button saying “print shipping label” this is a shipment that needs to be sent out.

The next page will take you to the page you see below. The following area requires attention.

a) The item title. What the item sold is.
b) The Quantity of the items sold. 1,2,3 or more.
c) Carrier. You can use USPS or UPS
d) Service Type. First class, priority, etc
e) Package Size:
f) Weight: This is measured in ounces and pounds.

The next step is to purchase and then print the label. Then the whole process repeats itself. Go to the front page. Click on “payments received”, etc.

Item carrier type, size and weight:

Service Type:

When dealing with USPS there are two main options to choose from: First Class Mail or Priority. Some packages can use a regular envelope and stamp as long as it is under one ounce. First Class mail takes 2-5 days and is a very cheap rate. The trick is that the package cannot be over 13 ounces. Priority mail takes 2-3 days and lets you send heavier items. There is also the option of using a USPS flat rate box. You are allowed to stuff the boxes with whatever can fit inside for a flat rate charge. Flat rate boxes are also great for shipping internationally.

Pre-Package:
I have found it beneficial to have all my items pre-packed before placing them on Ebay. If I do not need to test an item's functionality, I leave it in its old package and simply change the shipping label. Therefore once the item sells, I just print a new label and ship it. Pre- packaging reduces my stress and keeps the customer happy with fast shipping.

Boxes and Packages:
It is very important to use an optimal box when shipping your items. For example, I used to ship with a normal box. It would cost me $6-$7. Then I went to uline.com and ordered a light box the shape of the actual keyboard. The weight of the whole package was 13 ounces which fit into the first class rate category; the shipping went down to $3.30. I sold 100 units, and saved myself about $300 in shipping costs. For an Ebay seller, shipping properly can literally save you thousands of dollars every year. I suggest buying all you shipping supplies on Ebay. Its by far the cheapest place to buy it.
